Adelaide
Adelaide is the capital of South Australia, a compact city laid out on a grid and ringed by parkland. The centre is easy to explore on foot or by the free city tram, with the beaches of Glenelg and the Adelaide Hills each a short trip away.
The city is home to several universities and a large health and biomedical precinct, which makes it a natural setting for a life sciences meeting.
Late December is summer in Adelaide, so expect warm to hot days.
Getting there
- Adelaide Airport (ADL), about 7 km west of the city centre, with domestic and international flights.
- Taxis, rideshare and airport buses run between the airport and the city.
- Most international visitors need a visa. Apply early; registered delegates can request an invitation letter.
